Meet Lindsay - Yoga
Lindsay is The Salty Pelican’s full time in-house yoga instructor. As a wellness professional and ambassador, she has dedicated over 8 years of her life studying emotional wellbeing in the field of yoga. She is a licensed yoga teacher from the UK and has developed an innovative program for our guests incorporating meditation, pranayama, Hatha flow & Yin yoga styles. Lindsay focus is on alignment, assisting guests individually whilst sharing the greater lessons yoga has to offer beyond the poses.
“ Through my own practice, I have transformed old biases into new perspectives. Each time I step on to the mat, I afford myself time and space. It is this sense of moment that I try to share. During classes, I interweave yogic philosophy, and encourage its principles for others to take away. Each class offers something unique, with grounded deep breath work to journey into the present moment. I structure my classes to challenge while offering a time to reflect. I tailor classes to meet the needs of the students, wherever they may be in their individual journey ”
Lindsay is also a surfer in the making, she understands the physical benefits of adding yoga to your surfing routine, in building balance, flexibility, and strength. She self practices yoga daily, including her own personal spiritual practice, eats plant based foods and makes the appropriate rest times….

Meet Maxim - Operations Manager & Social Host
Role at The Salty Pelican... Hi, I’m Maxim, from a small town near Bruges, Belgium. I'm your legendary go to person here in Ericeira... I'm the one that will take care of you and make sure you're having an uber cool experience at The Salty Pelican. You’ll find me doing a bit of everything around our beautiful property. If you have any feedback or questions about your package or stay with us, feel free to come up to me and I’ll be happy to help you out!
Background experience... , Years ago I was an infamous postman working in Belgium but for the past two and two and a half years Ive worked in hospitality. This is where I found my love of taking care of people and preparing delicious group dinners. Arriving in Portugal on a solo trip back in early 2021 , I found myself quickly embraced into The Salty Pelican vibes as one of their guests. My goal was to restore and balance, take care of my mind and body through yoga. One thing I told myself, I wouldn’t leave Portugal before being capable of catching a wave and in the end, I joined The Salty Pelican dream team as one of their key members and surrounded myself with all these beautiful souls.
Secret super powers... Downhill skateboarding is one of my passions and I also ended up travelling across European events for it.... So I know how to really send it down a mountain pass !
“ Why I love surfing this much? I feel like a kid again, playing and laughing in the water and I have to get out of my head, letting the waves wash away everything that no longer serves me. You have to let go, cuz you’re depending on the mood of the ocean ”
Favourite place in the world... Nature… in a forrest, on a mountain or at the beach! Next to a campfire surrounded by friends, stargazing and reminiscing about how good life is!
Craziest experience... Going on a holiday to Salty which ended up in a permanent move to Portugal
Meet Tiago - Co-founder
Role at The Salty Pelican... Hey! I'm Tiago, 25yo and Proudly Portuguese! Im one of the co-founders of this legendary great place, The Salty Pelican. I'm the guy everyone comes for help, advice and fun!
Background experience... I grew up near the now famous big wave surf mecca of Nazaré, Portugal. I've studied IT Management in college, I have a degree in Multimedia Development, and at the moment Im finishing my Bachelor's degree in Hotel & Hospitality Management... Im here to show you the best possible time in Cascais and offer you all the advice and planning you will need for your stay in Portugal.
Secret super powers... My secrets super powers are always knowing the number of beens in a jar, having a great hair cut, and knowing the best combination of ingredients for a pizza. I'm also a great hugger. I'm going to make you smile and laugh during your stay... That would be my official super power ;-)

Craziest experience... Skydiving and bungee jumping.... maybe that one time I realised you shouldn't go for a pee after slicing some chillies...owwiiiee
Meet Jorge - Surf School
Role at The Salty Pelican... Jorge is our surf school coordinator and has been surfing for over 25 yrs and a true lover of this sport as he has committed both personally and professionally to becoming a dedicated surf school teacher. No one can outmatch his passion on teaching our surfers the meaning of surf and how this simple sport can enhance your awareness of yourself and the world.

Our experienced surf instructor team is happy to advise and help you with any questions you may have! We dedicate 100% of our effort on giving the best quality lessons for small groups, that way all of The Salty Pelicans get the best and fastest advice on improving within a safe but fun lesson.
Wilma - Photographer & Social Media
Role at The Salty Pelican... I’m Wilma, Photographer, Social Media Manager and (un)professional reel-maker.
Background Experience... After high school I’ve basically been out and about traveling and seeing what the world has to offer. From surfing in Australia and diving in Mexico to living in a shed in Indonesia and bungee jumping from a bridge in South Africa. I’d say I’ve always had the travel bug, longing for new places and experiences. After doing the 9-5 and studying in Stockholm for a while I had enough and that’s what led me to the Salty Pelican: my portuguese home and family!
“ When I’m not behind the lens or scrolling on instagram for the best reel song I’ll be dancing in the kitchen to a swedish banger no one knows the lyrics to. I’m a creative at heart who will only be seen doing yoga poses to get the best angle for a photo ;) ”
Secret super powers... Hear me out - I can cook the weirdest food out of what I have left in the fridge and it always turns out good in some non-gourmet kind of way ?! I guess most people who’s backpacked knows exactly what I’m talking about. Other than that I can make any boring photo look kinda artsy-cool-instagram friendly if you let me hehe...
Favourite place in the world ... Leave me anywhere close to the ocean and I’ll be happy.
Craziest experience... My whole life is kind of a crazy experience. Never really having a plan can be nerve wracking but also a valuable lesson !
